The National Stadium of Peru is located in central Lima and is less than 2 kilometres south of Plaza San Martín in Lima’s historical centre. The stadium is easily reached by car, but it is advised that visitors use public transportation in order to arrive at the venue.
There are parking lots just to the north of the stadium, and there is a car park for the stadium called Los Portales Estacionamiento Estadio Nacional which is just a 200 m (2 min) walk from the stadium.
You can catch a taxi from the historic centre of Lima to the stadium.
The Cruz del Sur bus terminal - which has connections to most other parts of Peru - lies about 4.0 km (48 min) south of the stadium just off the Paseo de la República.
The Metropolitano runs past many of Lima’s popular neighbourhoods, including Barranco and Miraflores in the south, and the historic centre towards the north. Catch a line that stops at Estadio Nacional (e.g. B, C, and 1) as not all do. The closest stops are at ITTSA (240 m (3 min) walk), Estadio Nacional (500 m (6 min) walk), and Avenida Paseo de la República (750 m (9 min) walk).
Lima may be the capital of Peru, but this South American city is still considered relatively cheap to visit. Of course, there is accommodation to suit all tastes and budgets including palatial hotels in the historic centre, colonial mansions turned boutique hotels, and private coastal villas along with budget hotels and backpacker hostels.
