Annemiek van Vleuten is a Dutch professional cyclist in the discipline of road cycling. She currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam Movistar Team.
She has had a very successful career with highlights starting from her 2011 victory in the UCI Women's Road World Cup. She was the winner of the time trial at the UCI Road World Championships in 2017 and 2018. In 2018 she also won the overall ranking in the Giro Rosa in Italy and she won the UCI Women's World Tour. Just 2 days later, in July, she was the overall winner of La Course by Le Tour de France. In 2019, she became the UCI Road Race World Champion. In 2021, at the COVID-19 pandemic-delayed Tokyo Olympics she won the gold medal in the time trial and silver in the road race. In 2022, she announced the sad news that she would retire at the end of the 2023 season, but managed to add wins at the UCI Road World Championships road race, in the Liège–Bastogne–Liège, as well as being the overall winner of the Tour de France Femmes, Giro d'Italia Donne, and the Ceratizit Challenge by La Vuelta.
