If you're prepared for a slightly longer walk, you can take the 861, 63, 172, or X2 Cymru Clipper to Lias Road stop, which is 2.5 km (30 min) walk.
The closest train station is Pyle, which can be reached via the South Wales Main Line (Transport for Wales' Swanline). It is a 7 km walk or a 9 km drive from Royal Porthcawl, however, so further transportation will be required.
