The National Cycling Centre is located in the Sportcity area of Manchester close to the Etihad Stadium and Manchester Regional Arena, so it is well-connected to the rest of the city and further afield. There is parking available nearby and there are plenty of public transport links.
Below you can find general information on travel and parking for National Cycling Centre. Individual events may have additional/restricted services available, and so we recommend clicking through to the event and viewing the Travel & Parking tab for event-specific information.
All spectator parking for large scale events will now be at The Etihad Campus, Gate 2 in the Blue Car Parks. It is a 10-minute walk away.
Parking for disabled spectators on site is limited, parking will be for blue badge holders only and must be arranged prior to the event by telephoning 0161 223 2244 (option 3).
The closest bus stop to the National Cycling Centre is the Tartan Street stop on Bank Street which is served by public routes 217, 703, and 710 and is just a 350 m (4 min) walk from the venue's entrance.
The Metrolink has been extended to Droylsden and stops at Etihad Campus and at the Metrolink Station - Velopark for National Cycling Centre which is a 400 m (5 min) walk from the venue. Trams to and from Velopark every 12 minutes, or every 15 minutes after 17:00 on Sundays.
The Ashton Canal provides a traffic-free route for cyclists from the city centre and Ashton to the Velopark. There are covered bike sheds close to reception for visitors, but you need to bring your own high security lock. If you are just visiting the centre, bikes can be parked for short periods in our lobby area, but still need locking securely.
A footbridge crosses the Ashton canal, which is National Route 60, so there are a number of off road routes you can use, some of them only suitable in daylight hours.
Although it is advisable to take public transport or drive into the city centre, there is plenty to see and do within walking distance of the venue including visiting one of the other amazing sporting venues in the vicinity.
As a major English city, Manchester’s accommodation can be quite costly, although there are a number of brilliant budget hotels and hostels for those watching their pennies. Manchester is certainly not short of swanky modern and grand traditional high-end hotels for those more concerned about luxury either.

There is one main entrance at the National Cycling Centre and once inside, spectators will be able to follow signs to the relevant seating block.
There are toilet facilities conveniently located throughout the venue.
