Visiting Colombo
Having been a port city for many centuries, Colombo has become synonymous with its rich and diverse cultural heritage. Across the city you’ll find everything from ancient Buddhist temples to historic Muslim mosques, all of which will wow you with their beauty and fill you with wonder. You’ll also find vibrant markets selling traditional spices, coffee, and handicrafts, just as they have for hundreds of years. In recent years though, Colombo has been brought into the 21st-century with an exciting new CBD rising into the sky. Rather than small authentic local restaurants and eclectic markets, expect cosmopolitan bars and high-end shopping in this up-and-coming area.
