There is no on-site parking at Mount Smart Stadium on event days. Instead, drivers can park on the roads surrounding the stadium, or pay for parking in nearby off-site car parks; many businesses close to the stadium, such as those located along Route 10 and O'Rorke Road, provide paid event day parking on their premises. Drivers can also make use of the paid car parks at the nearby Central Park business park:
Visitors should note that, as the roads close to the stadium and the aforementioned car parks are usually busy on event days, drivers should allow extra time for their journeys.
Accessible parking
Disabled-accessible car parking is available via the stadium's O'Rorke Road entrance (north side), except on New Zealand Warriors home match days, when disabled car parking is accessed via the stadium's Beasley Avenue entrance (south-east corner). In order to be admitted to the accessible car parks on any event day, visitors must present valid mobility permits; contact the organisers of the event in you are attending, in advance of the event, if you are not in possession of a mobility permit. Disabled-accessible car parking spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, on all event days.
Auckland isn’t the easiest city to get around, and public transport around the city centre can be a little slow. For this reason, many visitors prefer to stay in the central business district (CBD), where many of the main attractions of the city are within walking distance. Accommodation options in this area are broad, from cheap but clean backpacker hostels, to luxury hotels at SkyCity. Nightlife, restaurants, shops, and museums all abound in this area.

It takes approximately 15-20 minutes to travel from central Auckland to Mount Smart Stadium. Drop-offs and pick-ups are possible on the roads surrounding the stadium, including O'Rorke Road, Maurice Road, Beasley Avenue, and Rockridge Avenue. As the roads close to the stadium are usually busy on event days, visitors travelling via taxi should allow extra time for their journeys.

All aforementioned bus routes operate 7 days a week, from early morning until late evening, with the exception of the 321, which operates on weekdays only, from early morning until early evening.
Private coaches & minibuses
Coach and minibus parking spaces are usually provided on Hugo Johnson Drive, less than a 1.0 km (12 min) walk from the stadium turnstiles. Visitors travelling to an event via private or hired coach or minibus should however contact the stadium directly ahead of the event they are attending: info@aucklandstadiums.co.nz.
Located just a 850 m (10 min) walk from Mount Smart Stadium, Penrose station is the closest rail stop to the venue. Penrose rail station serves routes to and from Auckland city centre, as well as throughout the wider Auckland region.
Any travellers making use of central Auckland's Downtown Ferry Terminal can travel to the Mount Smart Stadium via train in less than 40 minutes. The ferry terminal is located just a 250 m (3 min) walk from Britomart train station, Auckland's main rail hub, from which regular Southern Line trains depart to Penrose train station. Penrose station is then just an 850 m (10 min) walk from Mount Smart Stadium.
It takes between 35-45 minutes to cycle to Mount Smart Stadium from central Auckland. There is a small number of bike racks located next to the ticket office on the north side of the stadium, which can be accessed via Maurice Road.
It can take up to 2 hours to walk to Mount Smart Stadium from central Auckland, so would-be pedestrians may wish to travel part of the way via public transport, and then make the remainder of their journey on foot.
Travellers coming from Auckland's south-east suburbs, such as Penrose, Mount Wellington, Onehunga, and Ellerslie may find walking to be a more viable way of reaching the stadium.
