If travelling on the A1 Milan-Naples motorway, exit at Firenze Sud. Continue down Via Marco Polo, then follow directions for "STADIO" when you come to junctions. The stadium is 4.6 km from the motorway exit.
There are several car parks surrounding the stadium.
Bus is a popular way to reach the stadium due to its connections with multiple public routes with connections to the centre of Florence (Santa Maria Novella or Piazza San Marco station) and further afield:
The nearest stop to the Stadio Artemio Franchi is Florence Campo di Marte (a 450 m (5 min) walk from the stadium). When exiting the station, head down Largo Gennarelli until you reach the traffic lights. If you are arriving into the Florence Santa Maria Novella station, you need to take a connecting service to Campo di Marte.
Within walking distance of the stadium, there is the Stadio Luigi Ridolfi which primarily hosts track and field events. There are also several parks nearby. If you wish to explore the centre of Florence, you can walk to the train station and take the train into the city centre, however, you can walk all the way if you wish as it is a 2.9 km (35 min) walk.
Florence caters to everyone from luxury to budget travellers with a full range of accommodation styles. As one of the most touristic cities in Europe, though, Florence is quite an expensive place to stay overall — especially during school breaks. However, it’s a big city and you can save money by choosing to stay outside of the historic centre, which is easy to do since there is ample public transport.
To reach Florence, fly to the city’s local airport, Peretola Airport (Amerigo Vespucci Airport) (FLR), which provides flights to and from most major cities…
Discover the sights of Piazza della Signoria – stop at this historical square which is home to the 13th-century Palazzo Vecchio (now the town hall), the beautiful Loggia dei Lanzi arches, and a copy of Michelangelo’s ‘David’ statue on the Fountain of Neptune
