During the current redevelopment of the venue, car parking is restricted to the Gymnastics and Martial Arts Centre car park at the north of the complex, accessed via Church Road, off the A34.

Once the redevelopment is finished, the free, on-site parking at the stadium is expected to re-open. This car park, which includes disabled parking spaces, may be full during large events, but it is a very convenient option if there is space.

There is usually some residential parking nearby too, as well as at the retail park just south of the venue, but check the specific terms of any non-affiliated parking spaces you wish to use.

There is a drop-off point outside the front of the stadium, but until the redevelopment concludes use Church Road to access the complex for drop-offs.

From Birmingham city centre, you can reach the stadium by bus in approximately 20 minutes:

• 51, X51, 52 - Perry Avenue/Walsall Road (A34) stop · 600 m (7 min) walk

This route extends north of the stadium, up to Walsall; simply alight at the bus stop on the other side of the road if travelling from north of the venue.

If you're travelling to the stadium by train, via Perry Barr, catch the 51 or 52 from Perry Barr One, which is a 150 m (2 min) walk from the station: head towards the shopping centre via Birchfield Road, and you'll see a group of bus stops. Both buses take approximately 5 minutes to reach Alexander Stadium.

From Hamstead station, take the 51, 52, or X51 Platinum bus from outside the station to the Tower Hill/Walsall Road (A34) bus stop. From there it is a 1.1 km (13 min) walk to the stadium.

Perry Barr is the most convenient station for accessing the stadium - it is located just a 1.9 km (23 min) walk away. Hamstead train station is the next closest station - it is a 2.0 km (24 min) walk from the venue. From Birmingham's main rail station, New Street, it takes 12 minutes to get to Perry Barr station, and 18 minutes to get to Hamstead station. From either station you can then catch a bus or walk to the stadium.

Cycling from Birmingham city centre is direct, along the Walsall Road (A34), and a new cycle lane means that the road's busy traffic is unlikely to interfere with your journey! It is still a long route however, at just over 5 kilometres. From closer to the venue cycling is a nice option, as there are several parks nearby.

Extra cycle racks are expected to be added to the stadium grounds as part of the ongoing redevelopment.

From within Perry Barr or other nearby north Birmingham suburbs, walking is a feasible option for getting to the stadium; Perry Park, Perry Hall Park, and Witton Cemetery all provide verdant routes to walk through. From further afield, for example central Birmingham, walking is possible along the Walsall Road (A34), but the route is over 5 kilometres, and involves a few busy roads.
